Change for the New Year and beyond!

The last of 2010 had more changes and we are continuing that trend into 2011!
Chrissy left Absolute Skin in November 2010. I wish her well in her new endeavors as that has provided me the opportunity for new endeavors as well.
So far into the new year Absolute Skin has 2 new services added for your healing pleasures.
We have added Dr. Donna Richardson of Destinations Med Spa in order to fill our Beauty Doctoring needs. She has the most amazing R2D2 Laser (not her real name), the Cutera Laser that does all kinds of tricks. Now we can get rid of unwanted hair, ugly brown spots, spider veins, red veins, general red and brown blotchiness, even skin tone, tighten the face and neck, etc...
Dr Donna is also incredibly skillful with her other injectable tools. She is one of the few in San Diego and California to be certified in the "Liquid Lift" technique. You may have only thought that procedure was available to Hollywood Stars, however you too can utilize all these great techniques at Absolute Skin or even the comfort of your own home!!Yes, she will even come to you and give you and your friends a private injectable party or here at Absolute Skin.

Absolute Skin is also pleased to welcome Karen Goldstein, Healer, available to you on weekends. Karen's amazing gentle spirit and skillful healing hands will relax you and work on a deep energetic level. She will work to heal old behaviors, addictions, wounds, all in a comfortable caring and compassionate way. Face it, we all have some sort of baggage that is not for vacations so why not do some work to release old patterns of thoughts and behaviors! I can't wait until my next session!

Rev. Beatrice Calise is still joining us for Psychic readings and Theta Healings on a Saturday or 2 a month dependant on her busy schedule. Her technique generally starts with a deck of cards and is expanded into great advice and counseling as well as healing.

As for me, I am feeling that 2011 is an amazing shifting year. Alot of changes are continuing to happen for everyone including myself. Business is growing and changing as I have added the new www.absoluteskinroller.com to my list of new products. This amazing tool is alternative to laser for those that are hesitant or would rather have a tool available to them to use on their own in the privacy of their own home.
This micro needle roller is a form of CIT (Collagen Induction Therapy) that has been used on other Continents for years. It recently became available to us in the US so I was hot on the trail to find the best device at the best price for the best results and I did!! I love my roller and have been using it almost daily for the last year or so. I still LOVE my Absolute Miracle Cream to induce Collagen and firm and tone the skin however, the roller just adds to this incredible regime. Check it out, I am sure you will love it just as I do! By the way, if the needle idea scares you, you really need magnifying glasses just to see them they are .5 mm and made of Silicon just like our computers not the harsh stainless steel version seen on The Doctors. Give it a try!!!

Personally, this year will be interesting for me too! My favorite hair color and lipstick have gone the way of being discontinued so I believe I am headed for a subtle version of a whole new me in 2011~

We are ready for Fall at ABSOLUTE SKIN whether the weather thinks it's Fall or not! Our mild summer in San Diego probably has it a bit confused. Thunderstorms this week were a real treat!
We are gearing up for our "Pumpkin Peel" treatment which is always a favorite. We've been helping quite a few teens learn to take great care of their skin and giving them that Sparkly Clean "Glow".
Our new Eyelash Product is inspiring us with lashes that are so lush and long, it's unbelievable! Try it for yourself, you won't believe that in 4-6 weeks your lashes can look that incredible!

The Missing Blog.....Found! Life is about the Journey!

This Blog has been missing until tonight! I have tried countless types of sign ins for Months since December. I was able to publish December's that had gone missing for all this time, finally. Now that I've found you again Dear Blog to change the sign ins or passwords is the question?
So many things happened in those short months that were really great!
Absolute Skin held our first ever Gold Buying Parties in December and January with our great friend and Fellow Business Owner, Mirjam of Adorn Gallery in Downtown San Diego! These events proved fun and a great way to make a little Holiday Cash. We all sorted through our old Gold that we would never wear to turn it into Cash at hand or some great new Jewelry.

Chrissy had her vacation time in New York while I minded the store before the Holidays. Then as turnabout is fare play, I took Vacation the first week of January for a Mexican Cruise on Holland America with Family to celebrate my Mom's 80th Birthday! We had a great time however, Grandpa did not go and had fallen while we were away. Our homecoming was Hospitals and Rehab for a couple of weeks. He's doing much better now and back at home.

Absolute Skin has been very busy as we kicked off the New Year with out 10% off product sale in January to start you off with great care of your Skin in the New Year!

We also had some great things happen with Absolute Miracle!!! A contract was signed for Absolute Miracle to have it's first Television appearance on Lifetime Television's Show "The Balancing Act". This is a daily morning Variety show that helps women to balance home, career, family, health. What we are all juggling. It's a great show with tips and Absolute Miracle will be in the Spotlight in May and June. Close to Mother's Day!Much work is to be done before that and we started a new Trial with another great new Product. More later on that! When the date is known for the airing, you'll know too!

My favorite Rock and Gem show happened in Tucson and I found some great treasures and some new healing Crystals. After all were unwrapped by Security at the Airport, I think I decided to take a drive next year to Quartzsite for the Big Rocks and stick to Tucson for the small gems. We'll see!

Grandma did finally actually celebrate her Valentine 80th Birthday! Joseph and made areat dinner and delivered it.
The next day we rode to Disneyland to the Grand Californian to have a Birthday Breakfast with Chip and Dale among other Disney Animal celebs. It was fun, and Joseph got to go to Build-a Bear for the first time for his Valentine present from Mom
.
I also, reconnected with a long lost cousin.
I took Joseph to the snow via the Palm Springs Tram. What a view and a death defying ride!

To top all of those activities off, Joseph was sick with a lung infection and missed a few days of school. He's much better and back to school! Just in time for the Chili Cook off and Cake Auction. That was sure fun! The highest bidded cake this year was over $400. Our Golf Course cake was popular and was won by a determined young classmate of Joseph's that didn't let it leave his sight!

Chrissy and I attended 2 trainings, one for a New Treatment at the Salon. Stay tuned for details..... The other on a great product line of flower essences, that help to balance emotions. Stay tuned for that too. We will have some new products coming into Absolute Skin very soon. You'll have to stop by to see what they are!
What a busy couple of months!! It has been a whirlwind! Now, what picture to post for all of that?? Hmmmmm?

Tis The Season!

Aaaaahhhhh! The Holiday Season is in full swing and I am loving every minute of it!!! It started with a bang the first week of December with my favorite things. The gorgeous and festive tree lighting and Celebration at the Hotel Del, followed by December Nights in Balboa Park (or as it will always be etched in my heart Christmas on the Prado!), and finished the week with the South Park Walkabout at Absolute Skin!! What a wonderful week!

Shopping is almost finished, albeit a simpler year for most of us. The focus is staying with the children as they are the true Miracle at Christmas. So, lucky Joseph has the attention as he is the child in our family! Simpler, harder times do make us think of the true meaning of Christmas and the Holidays as some of my best friends are celebrating Hanukkah! It always amazed me that Hanukkah hes no focus on the gifts but on the memories of the traditions! A true lesson indeed. This year for us our traditional Christmas Eve Mass has been discontinued. My three Church tradition of the last several years will be jolted and change in tradition is upon me. Change surrounds us all the time and really does help us to grow and to bend!

May we all remember the Magic of the Holiday Season, the spirit of giving, and to share with those less fortunate than ourselves!! I really do believe in Santa and I still know that the one in Balboa Park for December Nights is the real Santa!!
P.S. Santa, I think I have a slight crush on you!

Happy Thanksgiving 2009!
I may be getting my windfall of energy needed to kick off the Holiday Season and for that I am grateful! With Thanksgiving Day here, the fast and furious Holiday ride is upon us. I'm hoping to be prepared for any bumps in the road and enjoying the ride as much as I can! After all, it is my favorite time of year!
I have so many people and things to be Thankful for in my life this Holiday. I am truly blessed. Even when a day goes nothing at all as planned and everything goes awry, I can still smile and be Thankful for the beautiful and special son that makes everything worthwhile! Even when the 1 or 2 errands turn into 10, the "fun" has to take a back burner, realizing we were able to spend the day together instead of apart made every silly thing we did even more special.
I am Thankful for my family, friends, Absolute Skin, clients, home, furry friends, and my Joseph! Thank you to all of you that enrich my life! You know who you are, so here's a big kiss from me! XOXOXO

Fall is in full swing and moving fast!

I'm beginning to think that the hands of clock are moving double time on me or faster! Is that possible? Maybe moving as fast as these jets!
School is back in full force. Routines have been a bit better for us, I think. We've had fun as always, enjoying fun times together. Had our first experience at the Miramar Air Show, The Canadian Snow Birds were my favorite and Joseph's were the Blue Angels. We went to the Pumpkin Patch on a crowded Sunday hopefully for the first and last time. I'm going back to Wednesdays! We "test drove" the Halloween costume at Sea World to check the wear ability. It worked out fine, we're ready!!!
Absolute Skin and Absolute Miracle Cream are keeping me busy and I really do LOVE my work! What fun "work" it is! I am always so happy to see clients that have been away too long, like old friends. Also, fun to meet those new referrals that are happy they found us! What a great life!
I am so appreciative of all that I have and all I am able to do!
My favorite time of the year is just beginning. All of my favorite fall and winter Holidays. I know they'll be here before I can blink my eyes! I am glad to see them through the eyes of a child! Thanks for that!

Summertime, Summertime, Summerfun!

It's been so long, I couldn't believe it!
Summer to me is a really busy time, out of routine, feeling a little discombobulated yet anxious to do some different things. Busy it has been, 4 weeks of different camps, juggling babysitting routines, extra help from Grandma, a trip to the Ranch in Seattle, a fabulous Birthday Party, Legoland, Seaworld, The Zoo, Pooltime, Swim Lessons, bulding large Star Wars legos, Play dates here and there, and working! I guess It's been grand!! 1 more week for a little extra time to sleep in then back to routine. I didn't realize I do seem to get more done, and do actually like routine as much as Joseph. It's good to mix it up every now and then too. Something to keep a little excitement, like desert before dinner once in awhile. So I guess for fall approaching and working hard, put me back to routine with a little "mixin it up"!

Memorial Day, are you sure?

I can't believe it's Memorial Day already! Wow! Sorry I missed wishing all the Moms Happy Mother's Day! Time is ticking so quickly lately. I hope someone treated each of you Mothers to a little nicety or some special time! Sometimes us Mothers would just like to have 15 minutes of Peace and Quiet. If others knew how simple we really are!
Memorial Day to me means the beginning of Summer. Time to use the pool, really stocking up even more on the sunscreen, and getting some fun time with my boy in summer. We still have another month of school before we can start that! I have been appreciating the beautiful weather we've been having in San Diego. Wow, are we lucky.
Joseph and I did have a fun date on another day for Mother's Day at the Hotel Del for dinner and a walk on the beach. That was some fun time for us. Mom and I rode the senior bus to Valley View Casino for a day. That was our day and took some juggling to get Joseph dropped off and picked up at school. I won $$$$ and it was a day far removed from routine so it was fun!

May Day, Tooth Fairy Morning!

Spring Fever continued to grab hold of me in April! We had some great times. The baby cheetah at Wild Animal Park was one of my favorites, at 7 weeks old she was the most beautiful baby, second to Joseph of course! We had some great times even though as a business owner I had to conduct a little business from remote, like the Carlsbad Flower Fields, and run some errands. It is what it is.
The last day of April was filled with excitement for Joseph as his 1st front tooth to go, did just that while eating a chocolate bar. What a way to go!The excitement of the tooth fairy has had him not sleeping very well, making her job very difficult!
Today is filled with excitement for me as I am taking this first day in May as a day for me to attend a lecture by a favorite of mine, Lisa Williams. She actually helped inspire me to start this blog from reading hers and becoming hooked. She's an interesting gal from England who talks to dead people. She is billed with John Holland who I am not familiar with at the Louise Hay Conference at the Convention Center. Sounds fun, Huh?

April has been filled with more fun. Joseph is halfway through Spring Break and we've managed to have some fun! Carlsbad Flower Fields were gorgeous, definitely more touristy than the old days but still very enjoyable! More in store for next week!
We've completed our Easter preparations of dyeing eggs and Chocolate dipping macaroons, we added strawberries to the mix this year! We're awaiting the arrival of the Easter Bunny. Actually, he has arrived already! The baskets look good! A little variety with the candy like Pokemon Cards, A Soft Bunny, and a new Video! We're off to early Church with Grandma to celebrate Easter, so not sure if I should risk going back to bed. For me, it is about traditions, whatever they might be, so I try to keep some no matter what! They hold the fondest memories for me. Some are lost, as the local Polish bakery doesn't exist in California for the traditional breakfast, it remains in Hamtramck, MI. The kielbasa has changed to vegetarian sausage for me, the butter lamb remains, although I have to make him not buy him. Instead of Blessing the Breakfast food on Saturday in Church, the Easter Basket gets Blessed and the Candy is Blessed. Sounds good to me! I still cherish the new Easter Outfit. My favorite was always the Hat and Purse!
Happy Easter to all of my friends and family! Happy Passover to many of my newer friends. Another new tradition for me that is very special as well! If none of those apply, Happy Spring!

March roared with fun like a lion!

The end of March is here and roared like a lion with fun! We ended the weekend with our Southpark Walkabout. Lemonade sold by Joseph and Grandma in front raised $150.00 for the San Diego County Animal Shelter. We served our Almond Champagne and Brownies and when the party ended DJ Joseph spun Tunes for us to Dance and clean up by!
We took a Pre-Spring Break getaway to Disneyland and enjoyed the Happiest Place on Earth! Chip and Dale treated us very well at breakfast as well as at Disneyland!
Joseph actually braved Star Tours but it probably could have been the first and last ride w/o a little encouragement. We managed to see the Fireworks from the Tram and leave at 10pm. Good thing Friday was a half day for Joseph. I felt a little more like I needed a Body Bag than clothes Friday morning, but we had a great time!
Excitement and celebration punctuated March with a 5 year project coming to new heights. More to come on that soon!

Feeling Lucky on St Pat's Day!

I am just feeling so lucky and blessed in so many ways. It was a gorgeous day in San Diego today. Yes, I really do live in this paradise. Almost had to pinch myself when I thought of it today. I have so many wonderful friends, special clients, and a small but wonderful family. I have been fortunate to have some quality times with friends which I cherish so much. A dinner here or there, a coffee, or a breakfast, always fun times with Joseph. Wow! I have great healers in my life whose knowledge goes beyond this realm.
The leprachauns did pay a visit to the McKenney's so maybe that childlike wonder struck me hard and made me appreciate the good life. Did they color your toilet water green and put green glitter everywhere? I know they just can't make it to every household. maybe next year for you!
Absolute Skin is getting ready for the next South Park Walkabout on Saturday, March 28th from 5pm until 8pm. Hope to see some familar friendly faces! It must be time for Champagne and Celebration! Joseph will be running a lemonade stand to benefit the San Diego County Animal Shelter where his new beloved kitten Pikachu came to us from. He's another new blessing in our lives and us in his! Stop by and say HI!

The LA Skin Show

My best galpals and I had a great occasion to get together for an LA Skin Show. We also had a great bonus that Lori and I were able
to have our first ever PJ Party at Merryl's house. It's not often that The 3 Musketeers get together, as busy Professionals, Salon Owners, Moms, and Best Friends living in different cities, it's difficult at best. What a joy when we pulled it together at the last minute! Thank you Girls for our time!
As we wandered the show floor looking at Wrinkle Irons, Teeth Whiteners, Fake Spray Tan, and so many machines, it makes me wonder. Sure we like new toys, props, and new products. What is our society becoming? We are starved for human interaction. Why else would there be cuddle clubs popping up, we have virtual friends in Myspace and Facebook. We're interacting with a machine not a human. Our children sometimes would rather play a handheld game, or interact with a virtual friend than go to a park with a real one. How sad that is!
Well at Absolute Skin, I will always give you a hug if you need one, I will give you my human touch, and strive to give you Absolutely Fabulous Skin. If you want your teeth whitened, see your dentist. I will strive to make Absolute Miracle Products the best they can be. I will always cherish and enjoy a good Skin Show, a PJ Party, or a dinner out with my gals way more than sending them a note on FB. I want human interaction!

Thinking of Tucson and Gems

Last weekend was an amazing getaway weekend in Tucson for me with my galpal Merryl. We decided this was our 10th year of going to the Huge Gem Show in Tucson. It was the start of our hobby of jewelry making for fun and pleasure. We enjoy our time so much and just love to admire the Natural Beauty of the Gems. This year I was feeling my purchases also needed to include more healing stones and Crystals. I use these in my treatments at Absolute Skin and find both the raw stones and the finished jewelry healing and astounding! It's rather great to "need" to make some purchases for work! Merryl needed some Nucleated Baroque Pearls for her healing this year. They are gorgeous and she should have that necklace knocked out soon. We both left our favorite rings for the time being anyway. Mine, an amazing Amethyst ring the size of Montana. Hers, tourmaline, green garnet, and diamonds. They reside in the San Fernando Valley and we'll see how much they call to us!
Our dinners were amazing this year and our time away much needed for both of us! Thanks Merryl for making me go! Let's do it at least another 20!

The first days of February were amazing!

We are so lucky to have what we have in San Diego! The beginning of February brought us amazing weather and my 2nd Beach trip in Winter. It's my favorite time at the Beach. Wednesday was awesome there. It was a late start because of biz but so glad to have the chance. A gorgeous sunset, the moon overhead from early day on. I wonder what that phenomenon is. Does anyone know? I find it delightful and intriguing. I enjoyed the last of the Sun with the Moon, the sand, the sound of the surf, the ocean smells, and the delightful children's voices fun and frolicking at the Ocean. Coronado is usually my special spot as was this weeks.
I am getting anxious tonight as it is the night to pack for my girl's trip to Tucson! Merryl and I have enjoyed this tradition for at least 8 years maybe longer. We've missed only once when Joseph was little. We get 2 nights this year, since Joseph we had cut back to one but darn they cancelled my Sunday flight!. We run the city looking at fabulous gems, crystals, rocks, jewelry and all of it! We shop till we literally drop and can barely walk. Usually 10 hours of hardcore looking, touching, wishing, desiring! Then we have our dinner out, back to our hotel to sit and look over our tiny purchases by comparison to what we've seen, talk about all we saw, and fall asleep with our heads in the Tucson Gem Show Guidebook plotting our next day and mapping it out!! I can't wait!! It's insane the beauty and the dollar value that is in town from allover the Globe for this Event. I really hope we don't feel any changes this year and the buying is still strong in some way! Off to pack! You'll have to stop by Absolute Skin to see what I may have purchased to sell! The Absolute Miracle Results are in!

Our Absolute Miracle results were delivered to our Studio on Sunday. Our Shoot went great! Thank you to all of our Participants because without you we were just a great product! Now we have the results, the photos, and the video interviews to prove it!
Every one's skin looked AMAZING! I think our Producers and Photographer were sufficiently "blown away". I must say that even I thought the results were astounding!
It goes to prove that what we do as Estheticians really does have meaning. It proves that great products with great ingredients and great treatments really do make you feel fabulous. It's partly how you look, but how you feel on the inside really reflects your true inner beauty. My dream is to touch more lives than it is physically possible for me to do. I can only "touch" so many lives personally and Absolute Miracle Products is my way to "touch" more peoples lives. If great skin makes you hold your head up high and truly feel beautiful, then I have done my job and that gives me such pleasure! What a great job I have!
This dream is becoming reality.
My next dream is to be able to give back to the community when I know that my son and I are taken care of. Being a single Mom is a huge responsibility and I want to do my best to meet that challenge head on and be able to exceed it by being able to help others. AbsoluteMiracle.org will soon follow. To "touch" people's lives physically is my everyday world, to "touch" people emotionally happens more often than not in my world. In order to expand my horizons, I thank Pattie and Phil for this opportunity in life. I think this is the beginning of a long relationship.
I also Thank my regular clientele who keep the roof over our heads and the opportunity to do what I do! Thank you Chrissy for all your help with everything. You are a "jill" of all trades and do a great job of trying organize me and that desk! It's a tough job with me around and I know it!

It's a Miracle......

Our "After" Photo Shoot is scheduled for January 25th. Our Trial Participants have stuck to their regime and their results are paying off! It will be very exciting to see everyone again all at once. I have had some great stories of results which make me even happier! Chrissy has agreed to help me out as we get everyone ready for their "close-up", really close up! I didn't realize just how close a camera's lens could get to one's face! Thank you to all of you that have helped us out, it is much appreciated and I am ever so grateful! Happy New Year! The end of 2008 always brings with it a time of contemplation on the year that has passed and the excitement of a new year. What a great thing that we get a fresh start to 2009. I am facing it head on ready to accept any changes and newness that may come knowing that everything is always for the best. I Thank You Lord for the past and ask that you guide my future.
2008 brought a new abandoned baby boy kitten to our household but that doesn't mean we are "throwing out" the old girl. We hope they become fast and furious best buddies! Joseph loves his Pikachu! We embrace the old and the new!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Is it really almost Christmas again? It's so hard to believe. It has been a joyous Season filled with alot of fun things.

Chrissy and I had our annual Absolute Skin Christmas party last week and we included Rev. Beatrice http://www.mypositivehealing.com/ . We headed to a fabulous Crystal Bowl Concert by Elivia Melodey http://www.elivia.com/ , she is amazing. Some 52 Bowls and various Percussion Instruments transport you to another time and space. 2 Hours flew by. If you get the chance to experience it, don't miss it. I usually Joseph to the Swedenboerg Church on Christmas Eve to hear the Bowls played, as it was cancelled this year I needed my fix.

We headed out to a lovely dinner with lots of laughs, another great healing Modality!

Now I am ready for my 24 hour haul of Santa Prep and a little work at Absolute Skin.

Joseph gets to go in with me on Christmas Eve to ready Gift Certificates to all the last minute folks. He imagines himself to be the Absolute Skin Security Team, so why not?

Maybe a little more cookie baking later and off to Church with Grandma. We did decide to let him open a present a 2 before Christmas Eve Dinner, so that we may enjoy a leisurely meal.

He gets to open presents from Grandma Christmas Eve and Santa Presents at home Christmas morning. Joseph asked if he could please sleep in his clothes Christmas Eve so he could be downstairs quicker Christmas Morning and not be in his Pajamas! Why not, I say!

What a weekend it's been!

I told you I'd post a photo of the Real Santa who was in Balboa Park for December Nights. It was really nice to actually see so many people in the Holiday Spirit. Definitely the most crowdwd it's ever been, but we had a great time as always. Great food, great atmosphere, great fun, and Santa too!

Saturday Night was our SouthPark Holiday WalkAbout at Absolute Skin! It was a busy one. Thanks to Chrissy for all her amazing help, Laura, our Dermalogica Rep, and Joseph our official greeter and Candy Cane / Promo Host. They got the walkers by to brave the stairs for champagne and treats!

Sunday was our Absolute Miracle Product "Before" Photo Shoot. Thanks to all of you that helped us out and willingly trashed yourself and your skin for the sake of our Photos! Our Producer and Photographer made the trek from LA bright and early and we spent all day at Absolute Skin. Everything was smooth and went great! I think we got some great "Befores" and I know you all are going to love the products, the results, and the "After" Photos in about 6 weeks. You'll get to have make-up, hair, and great skin!

Tomorrow is probably my last day to do any shopping on my own as Joseph's Christmas Vacation starts Friday! We hope to have some fun adventures while he's off. Any ideas?

By the way, Santa told us his favorite cookie was peanut butter, so that's on our "to do" list.

The beginning of December and we're in full swing of the Holiday Season! It is a favorite time for me. Although extremely busy, extremely fun and magical.

How can Santa, Rudolph, and Christmas not seem magical through a 6 year old's eyes? I am so lucky I get to re-live the magic as the truth was revealed to me, probably accidently, at a very young age.

We started our events this week with decorating at Absolute Skin for the Holidays, home had already had a great start on Thanksgiving weekend. Wednesday, was the Holiday Celebration at the Hotel Del, a newer tradition that will go on. forever, I hope. The magic of the beautiful Hotel, the lights, decorations, a beautiful sunset, fireworks on the beach, and ice rink by the Sea in sunny San Diego, Divine!!!

Friday will find us at December Nights which I will probably always call "Christmas on the Prado", old habits of 20+ years die hard! Our annual visit with Santa and the best one in town, I might add. I know he's the real deal! The twinkle in his eyes, the rosy cheeks, and the brightest smile! Check back for his pic or meet us there!

Saturday will be the SouthPark Walkabout in which I hope to feature a new Elf or Santa's Helper of my own in front of Absolute Skin. It doesn't come without bribery but that's OK.

Sunday is our Absolute Miracle Photo Shoot. The good news is these are the "before" photos so it's OK for the participants to arrive in rough shape after hopefully partying with us Saturday night and maybe hitting the Prado too! Our latest "Casting Call" for Absolute Miracle Cream and Absolute Products has and continues to be alot of fun. Our date for the before photos has been set for December 7th. This is so exciting for us. It means that those that have decided to lend us their skin will be photographed, then return home to use their Absolute Miracle products for 6 weeks and come back for the "after photos". Our special "Skin Photographer" will be in from LA with a great LA Producer. All this for the sake of an Absolute Miracle Infomercial!

Happy Halloween to all! How is it that today is Halloween and October 31st? Is tomorrow really November 1st? I feel that time is moving so fast right now. Joseph is doing great in school and well settled into routine. Halloween was a great highlight to the month as well as the the Coronado Fire Dept. Open House, the Pumpkin Patch, Carving Pumpkins, and Crazy Hair Day at school. Our warm temperatures and Santa Anas didn't feel much like fall, but I think it's on it's way.

At Absolute Skin, we're working on some great fall skin care treatments with our Pomegranate and Pumpkin Peels for gorgeous fall skin. We are also concentrating our efforts on Chakra Balancing Treatments for all that have felt the uncertainty in our present times. Just remember life goes on so why not do the things that make you feel good. We find that our clients feel more balanced, less stressed, and happier by keeping their appointments with us. We'll continue to take good care of you so that you can feel your best!

Back to School

Summer was fast and August was superspeed. Fun times in Seattle with Aunty Kathy and Uncle Al, Summer Nights at SeaWorld and the Zoo. Groupies of our favorite artist at the Zoo, visit www.splashanimals.com to check it out, and snorkeling in our pool. Lots of special times! Plus taking care of those clients in need!

We survived the first week of school!
Joseph had a rough go at the beginning of the week with lots of tears for new beginnings. I had a teary midweek as he was adjusting well to new friends and new routine. I was missing the freedom of summer days spent together and realizing we are in a new phase as he is growing up and school will really be his job for quite a few years to come. Grandma was feeeling the same changes. I am trying to blame it on hormones but not sure if that's the whole truth. I'll try to place the blame there for now.

I think adjusting to the new routine has me emerging from my sleepy summer cocoon and getting ready for new projects again. Maybe the fall energizes me more, I hope it feels more like fall soon too. Maybe in October.

Another Walkabout!!

We had a fun Walkabout in Southpark this past Saturday night. Joseph and Grandma had a lemonade stand in front of Absolute to usher walkers to Chrissy and I upstairs. That was a good trick. He is quite the entrepreneur and kept wanting to have a lemonade stand, so this had to be the time and place. We hope that you can attend one of these fun events.
We did complete our Spruce up with paint and new carpet last month.
This summer is going so quickly and it seems my sleep , work, and Joseph have kept me away from the computer a little more lately. I am just going to go with it for now and honor what my body is telling me. We all need to have the courage to do that every now and then!

The Happiest Place on Earth

This Wednesday was a lucky day for Joseph as he got to skip school and spend the day at Disneyland. Thanks to Sarah for the tickets! My thought was that it couldn't possibly be very crowded on a Wednesday while school was in session. Wrong. I've decided that an uncrowded Disneyland is a myth. Being there got me thinking, does Walt Disney really know what he created? A place that is recesssion proof judging by the amount of people in the park and spending money there. A place where people of all nationalities and cultures get along in harmony. A place where the employees all seem to love their jobs and are having a great time working. A place where young and old alike can be excited to see characters that will always sign an autograph or give a hug. A place where any age can wear Mouse Ears and blend in with the crowd. Where else have I seen biker chicks standing in line giving their Mardi Gras beads to little girls dressed as princesses? Or a family of five dressed in matching shirts with Mickey Mouse on them and their names. It seems our World could learn a lesson here. I always admire the well organized way that the crowds are handled from parking, to the tram, to standing in lines. One of the employees told me that on July 4th there were 90,000 people there and it took him 1 1/2 hours to get to his car to leave. He's still working there! You did it Walt. Thanks.

Spring Spruce Up and New products

I'm feeling the fever and Thanks to Chrissy we had a Spruce Up the paint day at Absolute last week. I Thank us both for our hard work as neither one of us felt we could move on Tuesday. We have a couple more projects up our sleeves. We've gotten in some fun new products at Absolute. Our SPF 50 Hats are back as well as the Sunglasses. My new favorite sold the first day. We have a great new Body Moisturizer and Hand Soap from Celestial Farms, each bottle contains a crystal and smells fabulous. My favorite is Aura Enhancer. We have some fun books that make great gifts like "Squeeze the Day" and "The Wise and Witty Women's Stress Kit" by Loretta LaRoche, she helps us to see the humor in life and stress. Our New Chakra Necklaces can help everyone stay balanced when they are not at Absolute. Now the Men in our lives are fortunate to have their very own Skin Care Line within Dermalogica, all accented in one of my favorite colors, Red. Some of the products might be so good I may have to use them myself, I like the Daily Clean Scrub. I hope all of you Moms had a great Mother's Day. Mine was lovely and the best part is I really am a Mom. Wow!

The Work I Love

I feel so lucky to have a career that I LOVE. I know that is all too uncommon for most. I had the opportunity to attend a Symposium in LA sponsored by Dermalogica. It was the best to spend the day with my 2 best friends that live in LA. You see we all met when we started in the Skin Care Industry in 19*&%^. So, we have been through alot together! I realize that I made the right career change back then. What could be better? I can take so many different classes in whatever interests me in order to keep up in the Industry. I've traveled to exotic Countries and not so exotic places for seminars, conventions, and trainings. I've visited some beautiful Spas for the sake of research (and many more to come). I get to touch people that live in a touch deprived society and make them feel good and their skin look great. I'm an entrepreneur and plan to be more entrepreneurial in my future. I have the ability to make my own destiny. To go on this journey and not worry about the destination as much as to enjoy all the bits and pieces along the way. I Thank all my Mentors and Educators along the way and to come. I plan to touch as many lives as I can along the way. I thank you Lori and Merryl for being with me!!

Change is good!

Sometimes change is scary and difficult, but more and more I believe change is a good thing. It shakes things up a little, can make you a little uncomfortable, but it challenges you and motivates you. I am proud of how Joseph has accepted his new school challenge. He never complained about his first week of all German, he went to his first classmate's Birthday party and likes his new school. The transition has been smooth. This week, I'll take my inspiration from that and try to change something up in my life. Why not? I was just remembering one of my favorites songs, that said "Everyday, do 1 thing that scares you." Good idea. I think I'll study German too, so that Joseph and I can have our own secret conversations.

Patience and Perseverance

It has been quite a week. All of my patience and perseverance have actually been tested for over a year. Last March is when I got the news that Joseph was #37 on the waiting list at Albert Einstein Academy. It was really the school that I felt was the best choice for us. In the beginning of the school year I called at least weekly and sometimes twice to see how he was moving up the list. He moved up pretty rapidly in the beginning, but at Thanksgiving time it had really slowed. I think we were about #9 then. At mid December it was a scramble, I had kept him out of school waiting for the first part of the year. I visited McKinley Elementary and it was a lovely school. The principal is a real dynamo and his new teacher would be wonderful. He started in January and it has been a hard transition, 5 days, all day, is alot to expect of a 5 year old in my eyes.

Well, this Monday, I got the call, Joseph was up on the list and Einstein had a space to start right away. Wow! I was in such shock that it finally happened, I really wasn't sure it really would and he was #80 on next years list so I had to take the slot. Joseph had one day to say goodbye to his much loved teacher and new friends and be ready to start his 1st half day on Wednesday. He has done so well and made 6 new friends this week I am told. Next week is German Immersion week which may be tougher but I am confident his new friends will help him out.

It goes to show that my patience and perseverance did pay off. Most of the uniforms I had bought back in August with my positive thinking will be used. Some are too small and can be passed on to someone else. Thank you McKinley for a great experience and Welcome Albert Einstein.

Lion Camp and Friends

We had a great time Roaring and Snoring with the animals at our Wild Animal Park camping adventure. I definitely heard the roaring not sure that I did much snoring. It was for me, probably the closest to roughing it I feel comfortable with. Joseph loved the tent and could have just stayed there. We went on some great walking tours, saw some animals up close, had our meals prepared for us, our campfire made, and had the tent closest to the bathroom. We even got rained on, but our tent stayed dry! My favorite part was seeing the lion cubs, they were only 4 and 5 mos old and the cutest and most playful creatures. I must say when the Daddy roared, it did remind me that he was King of the Jungle.

I was fortunate to have a week filled with friends this week and an evening out on the town too. What a lucky girl I am. Thank you girls for the time out. We do all need time away from our day to day duties and what better way than to enjoy time with friends. I had it all this week, special family time and time with friends.

Indulgences

Yesterday was a fabulous day of indulgences for me. The excuse was a Birthday, although I've decided we should all do this more often than once a year. The day started with an incredible Reflexology session with my friend Ariel of http://www.sole-to-soul.com/ , then on to a great Facial at Absolute Skin with Chrissy, then a pedicure at Lulu's. When I picked Joseph up from school instead of the typical after school snack, we headed to Extraordinary Desserts for an incredible treat. We stopped at the O.B. Farmers Market as we had not been in a long time. We then headed to one of my favorite restaurants, Jack and Giulios's in Old Town.
There were many surprises along the way. Thank you for all the phone calls and great surprises from friends and family. I kept telling Chrissy I really wanted a stapler for my birthday as we can never find ours on the desk, she succeeded in finding the hottest jewel encrusted stapler plus a mouse and tape dispenser to match. Thanks! What a great day!
This weekend, it's our turn to have Rev. Beatrice, our resident psychic/healer on board at Absolute. That always makes for a fun time!
Then, I am taking Joseph on his first ever camping trip (mine too) to Wild Animal Park to "Roar and Snore" with the animals. I am sorry to miss SouthPark Walkabout but had to end the week with one last indulgence. I always thought the best camping was at a fine hotel with room service but with Joseph in my life I must branch out. The Queen Bed accomodation tent seemed like a Camping Cop Out, it was already booked so I bought my first ever sleeping bag. Joseph is ready with his, we have our flashlights and light sticks and away we go after work Saturday. The good news is someone will be cooking for us and building our campfire. I understand our tent is closest to the feeding trough that the animals frequent in the middle of the night. Wish us luck with sleeping!

Healing and Spring Break

Thank you everyone for your prayers for my Mom as they work. She is doing great, was home from the hospital on Saturday, and got the great news late Monday that there was no sign of cancer. Thankfully the pathology was different than the the diagnosis initially. The Dr. removed the growths and she just needs to heal. Thank you Kathy for your help. I know Mom enjoyed the shopping and lunches with you. Joseph and I were happy to have you come to Seaworld at night for the official start of Spring Break!

It's a busy week with Leprechauns, Spring Break and Easter all falling in one week. Today it's off to Legoland as Mom is doing great and it's my last day of the week to be crazy and run amuck with Joseph. Never thought I would willingly sign up for an amusement park at Spring Break. Am I crazy?

We've started doing our Chakra Treatment Special at Absolute and that has been fun.

Easter is so early this year I hope the Bunny has enough time to get ready by Sunday. Happy Easter!!

Time

It sometimes seems that time goes so quickly. The gorgeous San Diego weather of late makes me think that spring has arrived. Our new time change that I love, (although the adjustment has been just that), let's us know the season is changing too.

Why do somethings take so much time and seem that they shouldn't. Last week was one of those weeks, I spent so much time on the phone trying to get charges taken off my phone bills that were fraudulent. I did learn the lesson that I really should take a closer look at those bills before I pay them. Does everyone really know what all those little charges are that probably added up to $700? Some I had been paying for since 2006 and others for only 1 year. You talk about the India Outsourcing, I sure felt it last week. Check this out because it was a good way to make me laugh about all of the phone time I spent on that last week instead of chatting with my pals when I can.

I just had to find the humor in it and now I have. Also, I feel I made a little extra money last week although I still have to pay attention that it all gets credited back to me as I had to speak to 4 different companies more than several times not including my own phone company.

Lesson learned: read your bills, find humor in the insane, and enjoy the day, because time marches on.

This week, I will ask a favor. I'm asking for all good thoughts and prayers for my Mom who is having Surgery Friday and we hope only a 1 night hospital stay. Thank you Pretty Sister for coming down to help. Thank you all!!!

The Price of Beauty

I always enjoy going to a Trade Show to see what's new, the latest products, inventions, makeup colors etc... Somehow lately, some of the ridiculous things out there make me wonder. I personally would prefer to take the advice from our ancient Smart Sister, Cleopatra who bathed in the famed milk bath that was the precursor to our Hydroxy Acids brought to the market place in the skincare industry commonly in the early 90's. Instead of being back in the time when Queen Elizabeth I's regimen included the toxic combination of white lead and vinegar to lighten and brighten her skin. All of the lasers, injectables, LED lights, Nanowaves, Tooth Whitening, Cellulite Busting, Wrinkle Irons and countless other machines really scare me. How far are we going for the price of beauty? I believe our essential oils, vitamins, fruit extracts, natural products combined with some newer technology and less use of the chemical and artificial ingredients will be far more beneficial to us. I embrace our ancient crystals and stones for their healing properties and might be able to get behind them used in more technologically advanced way.
I will make a commitment to you. One thing I will tell you, that at Absolute Skin, not 1 product will touch your skin that I have not personally used. I will experiment with some of the samples I acquire that seem interesting to me. I will endure the orange skin of yesterday to try something new, but I will not have you try it unless it's approved by me, the ingredients meet my strict standards, and is a "love this product" to me. As your Skin Care Therapist, I am going to leave the teeth whitening to your Dental Office, the more serious requests to your Plastic Surgeon or Dermatology Office, and your great Skin and Body Treatments to us.

Snow in San Diego

Yes, it is still is hard for me to fathom that we can build a snowman and throw snowballs in Southern California. Joseph had a 4 day winter break and we were looking for something just a little different. Thank you Lois, for telling me about Mount Laguna, a charming and easy to get to place. Out the 8 east to Sunrise highway and snow appeared. There were tiny patches of snow headed up the mountain and Joseph must have thought that's all we'd see. He kept saying "pull over this is good". As we continued to the Visitor Center to buy our $5 Adventure Pass to park, we found at least closer to a good 5-6 inches. It was great Snowman building and snowball fight snow. It was great to have that child's perspective and play like a child in the snow reminding me of my childhood in Michigan, only we had several feet of snow not just inches. The real beauty is to remember to hold onto the childlike wonder and awe and to just have "fun". For some period of time, forget about your duties and responsibilities, forget about bills, forget about pressing issues, and just enjoy life. Life is the game, so let's have fun with it. I Thank You God for giving me a 5 year old to help me appreciate these times. If anyone, wants to borrow him to help you experience the simple joys, we'll talk.

This Monday, Chrissy and are off to a big Spa and Resort Expo in Downtown LA. We're doing the luxury thing of taking the train, so we can relax on the way to and fro. My last 8 hour harrowing drive to LA in January for an event did me in for a few months. I hope to see some new products and ideas, learn more about what the plastic surgeons are up to, and meet with a new source for some new products in the Absolute Miracle line. That really excites me. I'll keep you posted. I'm taking more of that unfinished reading material on the train. Wish us luck!

Refreshed and Renewed

Had a wonderful vacation and coming back in feeling Refreshed and Renewed and ready to take on the world or at least several projects.

I did not manage to read all of the books but at least saw someting useful inside of each and finished about 3I/2. The girls on the trip relaxed by looking at beautiful art at the Ship's art auctions and then of course buying our favorites. The champagne served helped to release those bid cards and make us bid on all of the "Mystery Paintings". Joseph most enjoyed his time with Uncle Al at the Sport Court, the gym, and running around the ship with his list of "to do's" several afternoons. Some of our special time was spent at Afternoon Tea and ordering Room Service. That was a skill Joseph mastered and even had the phone number of 92 memorized. He was quite adept at ordering chocolate chip cookies or chocolate cake for himself and the fruit and cheese plate for Mama. I didn't fathom he'd like to sit and drink tea however with the sugar added to the chamomile tea and the great treats how could you not enjoy it. My favorite was the Indonesian Tea when our Maitre D, Hakim, dressed Joseph in traditional Indonesian dress at the end. Our family dinners were enjoyable and I got out to the disco with my sister and brother in law. Kathy even broke out her new version of the go-go boots she had when we were young and hanging out at the Washington D.C. disco. I think we're still fun.

My annual girl trip to Tucson for the great Gem Show followed. We have been making this trip for 10 years now which is so hard to believe. We looked at so many beautiful things and fondled some fabulous gems. Merryl and I decided we would love to be locked in one night just to play and try on all of our favorites. We carefully chose a few special things for ourselves, some supplies to make new jewelry, some gifts, and some things for Absolute. I spent some time with the rocks where you see those incredible 6 foot tall crystals that have come from the earth, amazing!!!! The energy I feel in that town makes me want to go back year after year.

I am so grateful for the time I had to spend doing different things and spending time with family and friends. Thank you Chrissy for minding the store and doing a great job!

Vacation in February

This Saturday is the day I "practice what I preach". I am very excited to have a vacation and a 10 day one at that is almost beyond my reach. It has been 12 years since I had that much time off and 2 Saturdays to boot. We leave for our 7 day cruise to Mexico as a family this Saturday. It is an ideal way for a family to have time together with the most potential for fun and least potential for disaster. It's hard to believe this will be my 4th cruise with Joseph. What a lucky boy and me too! I am sure we all have our hidden agendas, Joseph has been X'ing his days off until the cruise on his new calendar waiting to get 7 Mama days in a row and no school. I have been packing my books that I'm dying to read all week, I'm up to 6 and I know that's extremely ambitious. I'm not saying I'll have all of them read cover to cover, but I hope one or 2 at least and the others leafed through enough to know which should be read cover to cover. I'm looking for fun, afterall, one title is "Life is short, so wear your party pants" by Loretta LaRoche. She deals with stress using humor and nails life's adventures. We have a few of her things at Absolute, including her Wise and Witty Women's Sress Relief Kit. I listened to the CD in the car yesterday and had the best laughs. She said that we increase our life expectancy with laughter as our medicine. What a great way to live instead of walking through life with a sour puss face and attitude taking a bunch of prescription drugs. More to practice and I will.

Upon my return, I head off the following morning to Tucson with one of my dear friends for our girls gig at the largest Gem Show in the world. The entire town is overtaken by Jewelers and Rock Hounds from all over the world. You find everthing from rocks and crystals to gems more precious than diamonds in quantities inconceivable to most. I always laugh that if I were to have one big heist in my life, Tucson would be it. Now, don't worry, you won't have to visit me in jail. It's only a crazy fantasy. I think the energy of the town is so intense with the amount of precious gems, beauty, and money in one place it makes me a little light headed. Or is it just the one place I'm just me again for a quick stint. Whatever it is, I love it and hope to be doing it till I die. Thank you Merryl for always encouraging me to go. I know it's only 1 night away and alot packed into 2 days but I promise you the possibilty of "more" one day in the future.

So for now, I'll miss you while I'm away. Chrissy is ready to 'mind the store" for me, that being Absolute. Thank you Chrissy, you know I'll try to remember you in Tucson. We both want some new healing crystals so I ask my guides and angels to lead the way! Watch out world, I'm loose!!!

Take Care of You!!!

What a crazy week it has been! Very full days at Absolute and I attended 2 incredible days of Inspirational/Motivational events in this past week. I have learned so much, but the words that kept haunting me were about taking care of yourself at both events. Lisa Nichols said that this was the year to take care of YOU because when YOU had your tank filled YOU could serve others from your overflow. Wow! What powerful words! As a woman and as many of my clients, we tend to take care of others and forget about ourselves. I have decided this is my year to take care of ME, so that I can serve all of my clients and my family in a better way.

Today I had a realization with my first facial client ever that we had gotten routine about her knowing what products to stock up on during our sale and that it was deperately time for a revamp. After 22 years, of course she knew exactly what was on the list, but as I looked at the products on the desk, I said to myself, we have some newer options with the Age Smart line and some of these products can now go as they served their purpose in the past but we are ready to move forward. I also admitted to her that I had lied in our relationship. I told her I had a ton of experience in facials when in reality she was my first. The New Year at Absolute Skin

Is 2007 really almost over? I must say that I am almost giddy with excitement at the chance at the New Year of 2008, new projects, new hopes and dreams.

One of my favorite parts of the New Years is our annual product sale at Absolute Skin. This has been our tradition for so many years I've lost count. I know we've all spent too much money at the holidays, eaten so many treats, and hopefully enjoyed time with friend and family. Now it is really time to think about yourself. Want great skin in 2008? I've decided to forgo the traditional Resolution for lots of great list making and new ideas for 2008. I have some house projects to accomplish and felt if I started before the New Year that would get me in the mode. My new silver kitchen will be fabulous. My list is growing by the hour and I am having so much fun!

Merry Christmas to my Treasured Clients, Valued Friends, and Special Family! I thought I better say it now as the next couple of days will be busier than what I call my 12 days of Christmas were.

Joseph and I were on the Christmas Circuit. It all started with, The December 1st Walkabout and hasn't stopped. We went to the Hotel Del for the arrival of Santa, we skipped Santa and saw the Gorgeous fireworks on the beach. We did December Nights at Balboa Park and saw Santa, we tried a live Nativity the next night but it was raining, we did 2 Funfilled Days at Disneyland, the happiest, most crowded place on earth. Aunty Kathy came to town to see us and the Boat Parade of Lights from a great spot in Coronado. To top it off, Grandma took us breakfast with Santa and Shamu at Seaworld, our tradition for the last 5 years. Now, was that 12 days or 23 days of Christmas?

I was really working fulltime at Absolute Skin and seeing some of you too.

There is more in store as I have a tradition of 3 Churches on Christmas Eve with Joseph. Tradition, Family and Friends is really what makes the Holidays special for me. All of my crazy times have been so special and created such lasting memories for me. I hope that you are blessed with the same. I thank God for all my Blessings and wish you many!!

I can't believe Christmas is only 10 days away!

It's hard to believe that Christmas is so close. Are you ready? I am close to being ready. I am opting for New Years Cards this year to avoid a little stress. The photos are taken, the cards almost ordered, and as I see it at least a month to get them addressed and out. Isn't it OK if a New Years card arrives in January? That was my effort on stress relief for the Holidays.

The packages are not wrapped, however most are purchased or coming from Absolute Skin. That gives me a little extra time. For me, Absolute Skin is never closed. This year, our gift certificate service is always open for clients too! Lucky me! My friends and family are lucky too. An Absolute Miracle Cream, a Gift Certificate from Absolute, Dermalogica, or one of our gifty items are always welcome.

Good luck with your last minute details. How about thinking of yourself for a great relaxing treatment as well as your friends. Good idea, Huh? Don't we all shop for ourselves while we shop for others?

Walkabout Success

Walkabout was a great success. Chrissy and I had old friends visit us, new friends stop by and some great conversations. Also, wonderful help. I thought our "piece of the puzzle" affirmations would be a hit and everyone loved them. We have more on the way...In spite of the questionable weather it felt as if the season has really begun and the turnout was good.

My favorite thing to get me in the Holiday Spirit is the event in Balboa Park this weekend. Now called "December Nights". Every year my schedule is marked out a year in advance for the first friday in December to get there early.

So, I have been busy thinking of my presents for friends. Check Chrissy's and my list on the homepage under Top 5 gifts. And for some of us that are last minute people, I know our new Instant Gift Certificates online will be a hit! Now I won't have to stay late at Absolute on Christmas Eve to accomodate the 1 person that calls me at 5pm for a gift. Thank You!
